CAO Registration:

If you missed Feb 1st deadline, there’s a €60 late application that opens 5th March, and closes on 1 May - restrictions apply. Go to www.cao.ie to ‘Apply’.

 

Other News:

UCAS Extra opened Wed 28th Feb. If you have used all 5 course choices at UK universities. You can add another choice using UCAS Extra. You can add universities one at atime. And if you don’t get the offer you want you can stillapply during clearing to get another choice. Make an appointment with the Guidance Dept if you’d like some help via DASH or email [email protected].

 

PLC Courses:

Totally separate from CAO, PLC colleges are accepting applications, with virtual Open Evenings available. To apply, students only need their identifying information and PPS number. Colleges will contact applicants for interviews. Consider exploring this option early, as courses are often allocated on a first-come basis.

University of Limerick:
LM104: Occupational Therapy: New 4 year degree. H7/03 in a lab science (incl. PE & Ag Science) reqd.
LM027: Bachelor in Laws in Common and Civil Law

 

UCD (course changes)
DN261 Food Science: From 2024 applicants will pick one of two pathways:
• Food Science
• Sustainable Food Systems
DN130 City Planning and Environmental Policy: Now 4-year programme.
Study abroad/Erasmus in stage 3.
DN300: Veterinary Medicine: Practical experience reverts to 60 hours for 2024 entrants.

Maynooth University (new degrees Sept 24):
MH221 BSc Sport Science & Health – 4 year degree
MH222 BSc Food Science & Human Nutrition – 4 year degree
MH503 BCL Law & Languages – 4 year degree with choice of: French, German, Nua-Ghaeilge or Spanish.
Changes in entry requirements: No second chance mathematics exam for Engineering (MH304).

TUD
TU889 Biotechnology - Grangegorman Campus (new)
TUD has also made some changes to their existing courses for September 2024. These include:
The title of the course Food Innovation (TU881) has been changed to Food Science
Music (TU963) will not be on the CAO - you must apply directly to TUD.
Photography (TU976) - the portfolio restriction has been removed, meaning no portfolio required.
They have eliminated the following courses from September 2024:
TU814 Sustainable Transport Management -Bolton Street
TU834 Geospatial Surveying - Bolton Street
TU838 Sustainable Timber Technology - Bolton Street
TU925 Retail and Services Management - Aungier Street
TU944 Culinary Science - Grangegorman

Royal College of Surgeons
RC006 BSc Advanced Therapeutic Technologies (Level 8) - 60 CAO places. Applicants require min. 6
subjects to include one laboratory science and H4 in Mathematics. 2023 points were 443.
