At The Dublin Academy of Education (formerly The Dublin School of Grinds) we offer all 4th Year students the chance to try our subjects for free before committing to a full year of grinds. At these free trials, students can experience first hand the quality of our teachers and their notes.

Our grinds give students a head-start before they move to the Leaving Certificate cycle in 5th and 6th Year.

Transition Year is often specified as “a year of broad educational experience with a view to the attainment of increased maturity”. However, these grinds offer students a head-start on Project Maths, with the main focus being on the building blocks of the syllabus.

With no major school examinations or homework during Transition Year in school, these grinds offer students the chance to get in the correct frame of mind for the Leaving Certificate Curriculum – without being too demanding – since grinds are provided just once per week.

Note: A bonus of 25 CAO points is offered to any student achieving 38% or more in their Leaving Certificate Higher Level Maths Examination.

Weekly grinds also include a special one-on-one service to all students, for a period of time before or after every class. This is a specialised, individual service, which we encourage all our students to take advantage of.

The foundation of our weekly grinds is ‘exam focus’. Our teachers strip away the unnecessary sections of each subject and focus solely on the core, examinable material, the aim of which is increasing students’€™ exam performance.

Note: As well as the 4th Year Maths class, which is a specifically designed course for Transition Year students, the 5th Year subjects are also suitable for 4th Years to attend. These subjects are: Accounting, Applied Maths, Biology, Business, Chemistry, Economics, English, French, Irish, Physics and Spanish.
